California Transparency in Supply Chains Act Disclosure Statement
On January 1, 2012, the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010 became effective. The Act requires manufactures and retailers doing business in the State of California to report on their website the activities they engage in to ensure that their supply chains are free from human trafficking and slavery.
We believe this Act may provide necessary tools in preventing human tragedy. At The Kitchen Flavors, LLC we are committed to providing quality products and observing high ethical standards in the conduct of our business. Our core values of accountability, honesty, and integrity, as well as compliance with the law are critical to our business’ success and to our interactions with our customers, regulatory agencies, supply chain partners, contractors, employees, and all of our stakeholders.
We respect the unbending principles of personal dignity and individual worth of every human being and comply with all applicable human rights laws. Failure to comply with our stated core values exposes violators subjects them to disciplinary action, up to and including severing business relationships and termination of employment.
In the ongoing process of establishing and maintaining relationships with our supply chain partners, we expect the same commitment to high ethical standards and compliance with applicable laws, including those laws relating to human trafficking and slavery.
We believe that our direct suppliers of finished goods, raw materials, services, and other processes are indeed reputable companies that have internal standards requiring compliance with applicable laws, including those which prohibit human trafficking and slavery. Therefore, we do not at this time require certifications from direct suppliers specifically relating to compliance with human trafficking and slavery laws. If, however, during the course of doing business with our suppliers, whether as a result of an audit or otherwise, we discover or have reason to believe that a supplier is not complying with applicable laws, including those relating to human trafficking and slavery, we will not hesitate to cease conducting business with that supplier.
